Individual Therapy in Chicago

Relational, attachment-based therapy for thoughtful adults who want to understand themselves more deeply — and actually feel different.

You may already have a lot of insight into yourself.

You understand where some of your patterns came from. You can name the ways your family, relationships, or past experiences have shaped you. And yet, knowing why you feel the way you do hasn’t necessarily made it easier to trust yourself, feel secure in relationships, or quiet the part of you that is always questioning whether you’re doing enough.

Individual therapy offers space to go beyond insight alone.

Together, we work to understand what is keeping you stuck, process the experiences underneath those patterns, and help you build a more grounded relationship with yourself and with others.

In-person therapy is available in Lincoln Park, Chicago, with virtual therapy throughout Illinois and Washington.

What We Might Work On

I often work with thoughtful, conscientious adults navigating:

  • relationship anxiety and people-pleasing

  • perfectionism and overachievement

  • low self-worth and chronic self-doubt

  • the impact of emotionally immature or critical parents

  • difficulty setting boundaries without guilt

  • anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm

  • dating and relationship concerns

  • family conflict

  • grief, loss, and major life transitions

  • recent difficult or traumatic experiences

You do not need to fit neatly into one category. Often, these concerns overlap.

What Therapy With Me Is Like

My approach is relational, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic.

That means we pay attention to both what is happening in your life now and the earlier relationships, experiences, and beliefs that may still be shaping how you respond today.

Therapy with me is collaborative and engaged. We may explore patterns and emotions in depth, but I also want our work to help you feel different in your actual life — more grounded, more resilient, and more able to trust yourself.

Depending on what you need, I may also integrate EMDR, somatic and nervous-system-based work, and practical tools for emotional regulation and coping.

Is Individual Therapy Right for You?

Individual therapy may be a good fit if you want ongoing space to:

  • understand longstanding emotional or relationship patterns

  • work through multiple areas of your life rather than one isolated concern

  • develop greater self-trust and emotional resilience

  • process difficult experiences at a pace that feels sustainable

  • explore how your past continues to shape your present

  • build relationships that feel more secure, mutual, and connected

Sessions are typically weekly or biweekly depending on your needs and treatment goals.
